The two award winning organisations are collaborating to develop ideas for the dance agency’s new brand. After a competitive tender process, Revolting Art + Design won the opportunity to deliver a new visual identity that will represent one of the country’s leading dance networks.

The workshop was led by Revolting’s Creative and Managing Director, Ross Cleaver and facilitated by members of his team. The cohort from Pavilion Dance South West consisted of staff, volunteers, customers and directors of the board who all took part in various sessions throughout the afternoon.

With creative thinking and a review of their own activity and that of the market place, Pavilion Dance South West will soon be presenting itself as the single organisation it is, rather than an organisation with two public-facing identities.”. The branding will reflect the newly strengthened network and unity of services available to the public and industry in the dance arena.

Revolting Art + Design are now busy drafting up ideas to launch in the next few months. “It is a privilege to work with the team at Pavilion Dance South West.” Comments Revolting’s Ross Cleaver. “By working together we can ensure that the new branding will have meaning and relevance to the organisation’s constitution.  It is our ethos to collaborate with clients as closely as possible, this is the only way we can truly understand what they do and their aspirations, this will then allow us to successfully help them be seen, heard and understood.”

Pavilion Dance South West continue to offer a wide variety of dance classes, mentoring, education programmes and much more to practitioners and audiences throughout the region.

Workshop in action!

Paul Clarke, General Manager of the 4* Menzies Bournemouth East Cliff Court Hotel has been elected as the new chairman for the Bournemouth Accommodation and Hotel Association (BAHA).

Since 2003 this not-for-profit organisation has existed to represent hotels and accommodation providers across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, providing them with a voice to help improve tourism, marketing, and communications for the local hospitality industry.

The chairman and committee supports its members by having active roles in the Bournemouth Tourism Management Board, Local Government Affairs Committees, National Coastal Tourism Academy, Bournemouth tourism marketing group, Town Watch, both Bournemouth Coastal and Town Centre BID Boards and the Sea Front Strategy.

Paul has been general manager of the 4* Menzies Bournemouth East Cliff Court Hotel since 2009 and will bring with him over 20 years experience within the sector to the role. Speaking on his appointment, he commented; “It is a great honour to be Chairman of BAHA which has seen significant membership growth in the past year, the newly elected committee and I will build on the success that my predecessor Andy Woodland (former general manager at the Menzies Bournemouth Carlton) has achieved and will ensure BAHA has an even bigger presence in the local area”.

The panel of judges for this year’s competition consists of the top echelon of recording artists and music journalists, and they will be selecting the winners in the ten categories of popular music covered by the competition.

Founders/Directors Candace Avery and Jim Morgan noted, “This years competition offers even more judges, bigger cash prizes, and another great opportunity to bridge the gap between unsigned artists and the music industry executives who could potentially influence and elevate their careers.”

Designed for solo artists, bands, and singers who are not signed to a major label record company, Unsigned Only’s goal is to find an outstanding, talented performing artist: a band, singer, or solo artist…a newcomer or veteran…raw or polished – the “gem” that needs to be discovered. Unsigned Only is looking for the total package. Launched in 2011 by the founders of the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), Unsigned Only offers the Grand Prize winner $10,000 and all First Place winners $1000.00 in cash (plus additional prizes) as well as the unprecedented opportunity to be mentored by a group of record company presidents, A&R reps, and more. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for an artist to directly network with the highest level of record company professionals and get guidance, advice, feedback, and networking opportunities.
First Place and Second Place winners will also be selected in each category. Categories include: AAA (Adult Album Alternative), AC (Adult Contemporary), Christian Music, Country, Folk/Singer-Songwriter, R&B/Hip-Hop, Rock, Pop/Top 40, Teen, and Vocal Performance. All entries must be original music except for the Vocal Performance and Teen categories, which allow original or cover songs.

It’s good times for the award winning agency, Revolting Art + Design. With a memorable name and creative thinking, the team is expanding with two new recruits.
